Why We Started

The Northern Counties Safety Group traces its roots back to 1972 when it was established as a members’ organization. In 1976, it transitioned into a limited company under the “Memorandum and Articles of Association.” Since its inception, the Group has been dedicated to providing a comprehensive range of safety, health, and welfare advisory services to its members, serving as the competent assistance required by health and safety legislation.

The updated objectives, which reflect the core principles upon which the Group was founded, include:

  1. Providing members with access to qualified Health and Safety Professionals, ensuring they have the necessary expertise to navigate safety regulations effectively.
  2. Maintaining an organization dedicated to offering advice and opinions on matters concerning safety, health, and welfare, particularly within the Building Engineering and Construction industry.
  3. Acting as competent assistance in accordance with “The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations,” thereby supporting members in their compliance efforts.
  4. Promoting interest in, disseminating knowledge about, and facilitating discussions, instruction, and training to enhance safety practices and accident prevention techniques within member industries.
  5. Collating and disseminating information on safety and health precautions and regulations, as well as publishing relevant materials and organizing educational events such as meetings, courses, lectures, discussions, and seminars.
  6. Providing health and safety advice and assistance to members in conducting safety training for their employees, thereby fostering a culture of safety and compliance within member organizations.

These objectives underscore the Group’s commitment to supporting its members in achieving the highest standards of safety, health, and welfare in the workplace.
